Getting Started with Life & Legacy Planning

A clear, guided first step toward protecting your family, your assets, and everything you’ve worked hard to build.

Getting Started with Your Life & Legacy Plan

You’re here because you love your family and you want a plan that truly protects them — not just a stack of paperwork. At the Law Office of Keoni Souza, that’s exactly what we help you create: a clear, thoughtful estate plan built around your life, your values, and your ʻohana.

Your Life & Legacy Planning Session

We block up to two hours exclusively for your planning session so we can focus on you without distraction. Before we meet, you’ll complete a worksheet called a Family Wealth Inventory & Assessment. This gives us a solid starting point and helps us make the most of our time together.

During your session, we’ll:

  • Explore what would happen to your loved ones and your assets if something happened to you today

  • Clearly show you what is most important to protect

  • Build a roadmap to the right plan for you and your family

This isn’t a rushed consultation — it’s a meaningful conversation designed to give you clarity and confidence.

Investment & Availability

Your Life & Legacy Planning Session is $750, or $950 if you have existing estate planning documents you’d like reviewed and thoughtfully integrated. Each month, we reserve a small number of sessions at a reduced rate to make this process more accessible and to provide families the opportunity to speak directly with an experienced estate planning attorney. If you decide to move forward, your session fee is credited toward your estate plan.

To ensure a highly personalized experience, we accept only a limited number of new client sessions each month, allowing us to give every family the time, care, and attention they deserve.

How to Prepare

After you schedule your session, you’ll receive a link to your Family Wealth Inventory & Assessment and other preparatory materials. Please complete and return your assessment at least one week before your session so we can review your information in advance — this ensures you get our most valuable guidance.

If you need help completing your homework, just reach out — we’re here to support you.

What to Expect on the Day Of

Plan to spend up to two hours with us. Our goals for this meeting are simple:

  1. Confirm that we’re a great fit for each other

  2. Educate you on what your current plan (or lack of one) means under Hawaiʻi law

From there, we’ll work together to choose the right planning options and fees for your situation — giving you peace of mind that your family will be protected and out of court and conflict when life changes.

After Your Planning Session

Once your plan is designed:

  • We’ll review your assets and ensure everything is titled for maximum protection

  • We’ll schedule a Plan Review — a thorough walk-through of your documents so you fully understand them and know exactly what happens next

  • After you sign, your estate plan is in place — your family is protected

But this is just the beginning.

Ongoing Support & Maintenance

Estate planning isn’t a one-and-done task — life changes, and so should your plan. At no additional charge, we review your plan at least every three years and keep you informed about legal changes that could affect your family and wealth.

If you choose to join our FamilyCare Program, you’ll enjoy additional benefits and support tailored to your long-term goals.

To take the next step, schedule your Life & Legacy Planning Session and begin creating a plan that truly reflects your life and legacy.
